Elric has started schooling!
As much as we have wanted to home school him, I guess we just have to come in terms with lack of resources. Elric is schooling in Grow & Glow childcare. A childcare centre operated under Presbyterian Community Service. It's not the nearest childcare centre to my new home but it's the centre where my nephew is also schooling. Guess I would consider that 'TRIED AND TESTED'. :P
Initially the centre manager advised us against accompanying Elric in the centre even on the first few days. However, the centre seemed short handed and the teachers asked Alphonse to stay behind on Elric's first few days of school.
I wished I could be there with him! But well... I had attend to work too.
Alphonse told me that some teachers thought Elric is an 'angmo' boy and asked if the mummy was a Caucasian.Another teacher thought the mummy was Korean. hahaha...
Last Thursday was the day he stayed in school alone. He cried. Of course. But the teachers said that he adjusted very quickly. Just cried for about 15min and he went on to join the other kids with their daily activities.
Elric's classmates.
My mum was quite concerned too and went to the childcare to peep! She was pretty impressed that he was dancing long with the music. haha... My son is so cute.
I do noticed however that he is a lot more grouchier in the evening when he reaches home. He would whine and cry for every little thing. I hope it's just a passing phase though. Otherwise there will be a lot of disciplining to do. :(
