Elric's birthday party!

This post is SUPER OVERDUE.

Yes. I'm sorry. I'm about 3 months late.
But it's still worth writing for memory sake!
:P

A group of mummies and myself whose gave birth to our babies in Dec 2010, came together and held a party for our little ones. We have been keeping up with each other since our pregnancies on Facebook and Whatsapp. It's a meaningful and positive support group we have there. :)

We made the party plan months before December 2012 and finally decided to hold it at Hokey Pokey which is located at Suntec City level 2. I last heard they are going to shift though.

My first impression of the place was great! There were toys neatly placed at every corner and the floorings were fully covered with rubber mat. I am pretty sure the kids can spend the whole day there without feeling bored.

Elric waited on this cute little blue sofa while we registered him. He was very facinated by it and climbed up and down and over. haha...

Once I registered Elric, the staff came over to take his temperature. (Nice!) We were also expected to put on socks in the play area. Both adults and kids. I forgot to bring my socks that day, so I paid $2 for a pair. Nonetheless, I like the fact that they are careful with health and hygiene. :)

We had 15 families and decided to make it an exclusive party. We started at 12NN and ended at 2PM. Those of us who came first, started playing while waiting for the rest of the families to arrive. Elric was really excited exploring all the toys! All the more when he met the rest of the toddlers! I believe it's mainly because he hasn't started childcare and hardly get to see so many toddlers at one time.

 Junior master chef!

I especially like this slides with the pool of balls! But Elric was frightened because the slide was too high and steep.I am sure older kids would love this. :)

The rest of the kids love it too!

even the mummies too!

Ohh... I forgot to mention. The mummies set the party theme as Sesame Street. So all our little ones were decked in Elmo T-shirts! Some of the mummies and daddies were also dressed to the theme! Cute to the max!

After all the kids had arrived, the staff gathered the kids together. We sang the birthday song and played some group games like passing parcels. You can imagine these kids refusing to pass the nicely wrapped up parcels!

We then gathered for family photos and group photos before the cake cutting ceremony. I would seriously love to see 15 toddlers gathering to blow candles and cutting cake but due to safety reasons, we decided to go with an alternative. CUPCAKES!!

Look at these beautiful Sesame Street cupcakes! Elmo, Oscar and Cookie monster!

mummies!

Daddies!

our family photo!

I like the party setting too!

Even the tidbits were to the theme!

Elric couldn't wait to dig in to his Cookie monster Cupcake!

Isn't he SWEEET??

One thing to note, the food were not anything fantastic. They were very basic fried bee hoon and hotdog buns type of food and there were completely no extras. Daddies who were there would probably had to go for a second round else where.

Note: Mummies and Daddies who  are considering holding a party for their kids there, may want to consider checking with external catering is allowed. You may also want to consider feeding your child before going.

After filling our tummies, we proceeded back to the play area for gift exchange and lucky draw!
Elric won the FIRST PRIZE for the gift exchange! hahaha... Elric was a little sad though, he didn't quite know what it's used for.

Last but not least, they had a bubble time! The kids were thrilled! Sometimes, it's really not the expensive things that excite the kids. The simplest thing do too!

We said goodbye at 2PM. We of course didn't have enough. He was reluctant to go. I am sure he enjoyed himself a lot.

One thing to note is the staff handling the event. Personally, I felt that there were only one staff who was more experienced in handling children. The rest of them were just standing around while she was trying so hard to capture the children's attention. They could have faciliated.

We also had a photographer onsite. Some of the photos you see above were taken by the photographer. (those without watermarks) I think he is pretty good at taking pictures of kids. :)

Overall, I believe Elric have fun and that, to me, is most important.
I believe many of the children too.

Love,
Mummy Kaye
